Running Windows 2008 or SQL 2012 still?

Running production workloads on Windows 2008 and/or SQL 2012 still? It might be worth moving them to Azure till these legacy applications are modernized.

When I am talking about Azure, it does not necessarily mean public cloud neither. Free extended support is provided on their on-premise offerings too (Stack Hub, Stack Edge and Stack HCI)!

The best approach is to simply upgrade them to a version that is more current, however, the applications being hosted on these servers are sometimes close to end of life, so nobody wants to spend any efforts on them since they will be retired in the near future.

Windows Server 2008 will be supported till January 14th, 2024 and Windows Server/SQL 2012 till July 12, 2025.
