World backup day was yesterday and after 24 hours of posting a small poll in LinkedIn, here are the results:
Even though backups is not one of the most interesting topics in the IT world, there can be a lot of value added when you put this secondary copy of your data to use. You should be looking for something that can easily search for content, check for compliance, tests the security, runs analytics, checks for ransomware, etc. The days when the backup data just sat on legacy storage and tape, untouched, are over.
