Nutanix .NEXT is an annual event focused on hybrid multicloud technology. It brings together IT professionals, business leaders, and partners to explore the latest advancements in cloud computing. Attendees are able to learn about new products, solutions, and best practices for optimizing their IT infrastructure using Nutanix’s hybrid cloud platform.
Here are the key announcements from the Nutanix .NEXT 2024 conference announced so far:
- Nutanix Storage on AWS EKS: Nutanix announced its storage stack is now available as a native service on AWS Elastic Kubernetes Service (EKS), expanding its cloud-native capabilities under “Project Beacon”
- Dell Partnership: Dell and Nutanix deepened their partnership, offering a hyperconverged appliance combining Nutanix Cloud Platform with Dell’s hardware, including PowerFlex software-defined storage.
- Possible names… NXRail? NCI Flex? Flex CI? Other suggestions? 😉
- Nutanix Kubernetes Platform (NKP): NKP, derived from the acquisition of D2IQ (formerly Mesosphere), offers easy implementation and management of Kubernetes clusters across various environments (including non-Nutanix ones).
- Support for vSAN Ready Nodes: Nutanix is ensuring AHV can run on vSAN Ready nodes. This move provides flexibility for organizations looking to repurpose their existing hardware while considering future changes in their virtualization strategy.
- Enhanced Hypervisor and AHV Updates: Improvements to AHV, including optimized live migration across nodes, secure (immutable) snapshots, and asynchronous data copying to meet EU regulations (among other features).
- Nutanix GPT-in-a-Box 2.0: Their Private AI platform will now include new integrations with NVIDIA NIM inference microservices and Hugging Face Large Language Models (LLMs) library.
- Power Consumption Monitoring: This enhancement helps organizations with sustainability planning by providing detailed, hardware-based energy usage data within the Nutanix dashboard, fully integrated with the NCI software stack.
