That’s right. I was just thinking yesterday about the role that they both play and how similar they truly are, in their own kind of way. Now bear with me here, first of all imagine Public cloud cost equals Body Weight before you keep reading.
What do I mean by that? Well, think about it…
Services are easy to consume, and so is fattening food. If you do not watch what you consume, your bill starts to get more expensive over time, just like the weight that your start gaining slowly. It is hard to keep track of all the services that you end up consuming daily, just like food calories. At the end of the day, most people end up using the wrong services and paying more than the should, or eating the wrong items and eating more calories than they can burn. When you start noticing that your expending is getting out of control, you will seek for help to figure out a way to trim down that cost, just like when you get to a certain BMI level, your doctor will advice you to make some changes and trim some off that weight off. If the bill continues to grow and you are unable to trim the cost, your role at that company may come to an end so they can hire somebody that can, or in body weight words, you will start having complications due to the extra weight gained (high cholesterol, diabetes, etc), and possibly even die.
Yes, this is only a metaphor, but after thinking of some of the similarities I just had to share it. Can you relate to it?
